  1. Can Laurel put in crosswalks on route1?

  2. The improvements on Greenview Drive were nice. However, they should've also fixed the faded lines on Clubhouse.
In addition, speeding is still a serious problem within the single family home section of Greenview Drive.

  3. Anonymous @ 11:20am,
Regarding crosswalks on US 1, there are ones at Cypress, Mullberry, Cherry, the Mall, Bowie Rd, Montgomery Street, and Main Street.

  4. Anonymous @ 6:24,
Thanks you for your comment and concerns. The City has not finished this intersection yet. The markings put in so far were painted only. The crosswalks across Clubhouse are not paint; they are thermoplastic. We have already ordered the new material and will be installing fresh markings on Clubhouse Blvd soon. All streets listed will be updated on this site (in red), as they are completed.

  5. All of these pedestrian improvements in Old Laurel mean nothing if the city council doesn't take steps to improve the lackluster Main Street corridor. There are myriad hair salons, and a few service oriented businesses. Nothing else. These are business that attract a patron once a month at best.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has consulting services that will help identify revitalization issues and develop successful solutions. They have a proven track record of facilitating in the rescue of decaying downtown areas.

Yes, bright streets and wide crosswalks are lovely, but if no one is using them...
